"Virtuosity is not so very uncommon these days, but warmth of expression is as rare as ever. The Canteloube Trio possess both these qualities, and their performances are a delight to hear."
Neil Black OBE, Oboist, London Wind Trio
Since its formation in 2003 Canteloube Trio has achieved wide and varied success. It has established itself as an exciting chamber group with a diverse repertoire. Its members are all graduates of U.K. music conservatoires who pursue careers in chamber and orchestral playing alongside music outreach and education.
The trio were previously awarded a scholarship place on a Tunnell Trust chamber music course in Strathgarry, where they gave several performances. Canteloube later returned to Scotland in 2009 with a successful tour around Aviemore, Kirkcaldy and St. Andrew's.
Canteloube has a particular interested in new music and has collaborated with composers Graham Williams, Andrew Wilson and Scott Lygate. Last year the group gave the première of Scott Lygate's Sounds from the States and Graham Williams' Even More from the Music Box at the Royal Academy of Music as part of the 'Music Past and Present' recital series.
With a keen interest in music outreach, the members enjoy introducing the sounds of the reed trio to a younger audience through workshops and masterclasses, often in conjunction with one of their evening recitals. The group also performs together for corporate functions and weddings.
