Octanphonie was formed in 2000 with the common basic idea of performing wind Harmoniemusik of the late classical period through to the present day.
Octanphonie is a group made up of recent graduates from The Royal College Of Music and The Royal Academy of Music.
Octanphonie as an ensemble is very variable and can range from wind trio wind octet and even beyond that, but usually performs asa wind octet.
Octanphonie was the only wind ensemble to be included amongst the finalist in the prestigious Royal Over-Seas League Competition in 2005.
Octanphonie has performed throughout the United Kingdom from London to Halifax, as part of the Young Performers Showcase and the Adrian Boult Hall in Birmingham. They have also performed in several London lunchtime recitals and during which they have included Dvorak's Serenade in D minor. They have recently given concerts in Kelly College in Devon and St James Church Piccadilly.
Octanphonie's engagements for 2005 included performances in Winchester Cathedral and during the Carlisle International Summer Festival they played in a performance of Weill's violin concerto.
