Who was born April 29th 1972 obtained a B Mus. (Hons) degree at Birmingham Conservatoire in 2000 and went on to study with Professor Hans Leygraf and Professor Peter Feuchtwanger.
He has given recitals in Sweden, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. Venues include St Martin-in-the-Fields: London, Southwark Cathedral during the Southwark Festival, St Mary Abbott’s and St James Churches in London as well as the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Symphony Hall and the C B S O Centre Birmingham.
He performed the Piano Concerto in G major of Maurice Ravel, and has appeared on both radio and television. He has made a CD of the music of Chopin, Mozart, English Contemporary English Composer Ian Venables and Swedish composer Stenhammar.
As an accompanist and conductor he has worked with the Canoldir Male Voice Choir, German singer Eva Meier and CBSO ‘cellist Richard Jenkinson. In 200 he was finalist in the Birmingham Accompanist of the Year Competition. In addition to performing Mikael Pettersson has been teaching piano for several years and has competition prize winners amongst his pupils. He is regularly involved in giving and performing in master classes and organises recitals for his pupils and is a member of the European Piano Teachers Association.
